"[What's Left Of Life] is a powerful record...it's moody and dark, with shades of mewithoutYou, Colour Revolt, and Manchester Orchestra"—Zac Djamoos, The Alternative
APRIL 15, 2022 -  Nashville, Tennessee indie/post-hardcore trio Khamsin (FFO: Turnover, Balance & Composure, HRVRD) have premiered "Permanent," the third single from their impending debut full-length What's Left Of Life, with The Alternative
The track skews considerably more upbeat than previous single "Limbs As Pages (Pt. 2)," but don't let that misguide you. A closer listen to the lyrics reveals the thematic rumination tying the tracks from What's Left Of Life together—the loss of vocalist/guitarist Jacob Curry's father.
"We wanted the record and especially 'Permanent' to feel like you were watching us play live," explains Curry. "It’s the rawest performance from all of us. It’s fast, has the pickups on the offbeat to keep things propelling forward throughout different sections, I’m playing drone-y open string riffs, and, of course, has all the alternating time signature stuff going on. Bloc Party meets American Football, if you will.
"Lyrically, I’m ruminating on feeling stagnant and numb following my dad’s passing. I was unsure of what to do, how to process and progress, and of course concerned that frustration wasn’t temporary–permanent."
What's Left Of Life is set for release May 13 and is available to pre-order in both digital and vinyl format via Khamsin's Bandcamp.

ABOUT KHAMSIN
Khamsin began as the reverb-laden solo project of Jacob Curry. After moving to Nashville and recruiting friends to flesh out his songs, the music took a turn towards lyrically based, emo-infused indie rock with jagged, linear guitar riffs and a rolling rhythm section. As a full band, including Cole Harrison (bass) and Darin Harger (drums/percussion), the group has shared the stage with a variety of acts throughout the Midwest and East Coast including The Appleseed Cast, Valleyheart, Salt Creek, and Mess. After a string of EPs and numerous regional tours, Khamsin are set to release their debut LP What’s Left of Life? on May 13, 2022.
